We went with Lotte to the Desert Park and joined up as friends of the park. I wonder if our cards arrived yet? We went back the next day to meet the wedge-tailed eagle, and then went to the Olive Pink Botanic Gardens for lunch and a wander.
Here are some of the birds. We think it's somewhat cheating to publish photos of birds in captivity, especially those we've never seen in the wild; but they are so beautiful that we couldn't resist.
There's also a rather photogenic thorny devil. It has the picturesque Latin name of moloch horridus, reminiscent of the year the Queen had a while ago - oh, that was horribilis, wasn't it? Close, though!
